Rob received a phone call from his boss yesterday wondering if he would be at work next week; after all, the Winfield Register reported about "...a bicycle accident on last June 12 that claimed the life of Rob Sperl".
The paper was reporting on all of the candidates for the local election. The accident (that did take place on June 12, 2008 at the intersection of Pleasant Hill and the Prairie Path) is one of the reasons that Sylvia Hood Washington is running for Highway Commissioner. The accident involved a bicycle fatality...it just wasn't Rob (he wasn't even at the accident scene). The author of the article, Gina Fugate, certainly didn't have her facts straight on this one!
