DCFS Visit...

We had a meeting with our new counselor today; she was also able to complete our bi-annual DCFS home visit. DCFS...urghgh...we need to start thinking now about if we would like to (need to) keep our license active or not...we are active until July 2011. Would we really want to go through the adoption process again? NOT!

Rob's Dad is participating in the Race to Mackinac Island (sailboats) again this year, but not on the Bequia...he is on his friend's boat Chaika (a Beneteau 37). You can track the race on the website (under 'The Race' and 'Race Tracking').

We finally decided on a week for vacation in September. We are not certain yet, but it looks like if the airlines cooperate, we will be heading out to Seattle...and then from there to Olympic National Park, Mt. Rainier, North Cascades, and finish with some kayaking at the San Juan Islands. Work may not be happy with it...but oh well...we work to live...not live to work...

Thank you for leaving a comment on our blog, and thank you for following along! It's always great to hear from someone new. We looked at domestic adoption briefly - we felt called specifically to adopt domestically if there were an Asian child in need of a family - we learned, as your statistics show, that the percentage is very, very small. God blessed with another biological child, and DH is of the mind set that 3 is all we can handle! I wish you and your husband all the best in your domestic adoption journey. And if you make it to the Northwest for your vacation, do enjoy it! It's beautiful in Seattle. One city I've frequented quite a bit, and definitely a place I'd consider calling home.
