Yellow Rose of Texas

Shoot, we did not win the mega millions. We were scheduled to do that on Friday night...$133 million to some lucky person in California. Oh, wouldn’t it have been nice.

Despite not winning the lottery, we are applying the money back from Uncle Sam this year to go on vacation. Thanks “Making Work Pay Tax Credit”; we will so kindly pump this money in to the Texas/New Mexico tourism economy. Booked the tickets to get away in April to Big Bend, Fort Davis, Guadalupe Mountains, Carlsbad Caverns, White Sands, and base camp out of El Paso, Texas (even a short trip to Mexico). Still working on the schedule, but we are so ready to board that plane!

While today wasn't great, yesterday was sunny and getting warmer; we took our first run of the year outside and it felt good. The Prairie Path (bike path) was still a soupy mess, but we are hopeful we will be back on the bikes soon.

Looking forward to the Amazing Race tonight; the Cowboys continue to make us laugh (and are certainly looking very strong at the moment).

Adoption still rocky... We have been faced with some situations lately that just haven't felt quite right, and we haven't pursued them. In one of our early classes, the instructor stated: "If you are not excited, than it is not the right situation...". So, we will continue to wait...

I'm not sure what's worse...having to turn down situations, or not having any presented to us. Neither sounds like much fun.

What a fun Amazing Race tonight! I can't believe the hat stayed on in the bunge jump. Hope the cowboys win it all.

That is an awesome vacation! It is so beautiful and unusual in west Texas and New Mexico. Take caution in going across the border to Mexico though. Along the border towns, there is serious violence occuring because of drug cartels. We Texans are not crossing over right now!

Just to clarify, resorts in southern Mexico and the interior are somewhat safe; it's the border that is threatened right now. I just didn't know if you'd heard since you don't live here :)
