Washington, Part 2

When we were in Washington a few years back, one of the hikes on our list was the Cascade Pass/Sahale Glacier hike.  Unfortunately, we were heartbroken when arriving to the ranger station to learn that a bridge had been taken out and the trailhead not accessible.  It was then that we headed to Mount Baker (the non-technical part of the previous post).  Anyhow, this time around, Rob and Nic were lucky in getting an overnight permit as well as being able to get to the trailhead!

 

He said that the hike was fairly easy - no big problems and nice views.

 

They did not see any bears, but did see a lot of marmots.

The last time we tried to get to this trail, it was September and there is more of a chance of seeing bears at the lower elevations as berries are in season.  The lower elevations looked a bit different in September as the low brush was autumn red and the blueberries were found in every direction.
