Scenic Sunday

Another blogger posted a picture from Arizona last week, and it reminded me of our visit to Canyon de Chelly in Arizona. I can't say this was our type of national park...as this is an active community of the Navajo Nation, there is only one trail available without a guide. Regardless, it was quite beautiful and we enjoyed our day here. We did hike the White House Ruin Trail which is where this photo was taken from; about 2-1/2 miles/600 feet round trip, it provided a nice feel for the canyon.

I laughed when I typed the name of the trail...White House Ruin...doesn't that describe things right about now. Now, as an architect, I have to wonder if they raise the debt ceiling, will they put in acoustical tiles or drywall? If they put in drywall, will they spend more money to paint it?

It is a bit different. When we were there our guide said that there is a move to turn it over to the Navajo Nation. I'm glad we went and hired a guide to go into the canyon but I prefer parks where I am free to explore on my own.
